Some Tips To Get a Domain Indexed Fast

24 October 2008 29 views One Comment

Every new webmaster asks why they can’t find there sites domain listed in the search engines. You have seen the posts all over many forums.

  • Why is my site not listed?
  • Why is my domain not indexed?
  • How do I get my website listed higher?

If there existed a magic bullet, a never changing way to earn first position in any serp’s, for any keyword than the idea would not exist. It is mathematically impossible for everyone to be first, there can be only one. The first step is to make sure your website is at the very least listed, what webmasters and search engines call indexed.

Before you get to excited about reading my tips to get indexed fast make sure you have completed the following tasks.

  • Do some research and make sure the domain you own has not been banned or deindexed by the previous owners, if its a new domain, never registered then great
  • Validate the code on at least your home page and fix any errors, here is a link to use Code Validator
  • Have unique titles for each of your pages with unique keyword rich descriptions using meta tags for each page, yes the search engines still use the tags
  • Remove links on the site that may lead to other sites you own, no cross-linking on your own sites
  • If you have no idea how to fix your errors than worrying about having your site indexed is not importand, you have alot of reading and learning to do first

Please! I do not recommend using the submit pages that the major search engines offer for free. In my own opinion using these submitters slow down indexing of sites, especially new sites.

If you are impatient, if you have not fixed your sites coding errors, don’t worry to much. I have not yet fixed the errors on this site or optimized the description met-tags as of yet. When I complete those tasks at a later time I have found it increases the spiders and crawlers activity on my sites. I guess they like the fact that the site is being updated and continues to change for the better. PLEASE! make sure your site has no major coding errors. The spiders will give up visiting your site.

How do you get url’s indexed fast?
Here is the tip to get indexed fast.

ARE YOU READY!

Having your site found on its own by a robot from Google , Yahoo or MSN is the fastest way to have a page indexed into the major search engines besides actually paying them for placement, like PPC advertising.

Follow these tips and your site should get indexed in the search engines within a few days, sometimes in just a few hours.

Create or use your existing profile page on any social bookmarking site that has a high page rank and add a link to the website you want indexed on your profile. They usually have a my favorite sites or even let you add a list of sites you own or like to your own public profile page. These sites are crawled extremely often, when the search engines visits them they will continue to follow the link to your website and crawl your pages. In a very short time your domains pages will show up on the search engines.

I have been a little lazy getting this domain setup, maybe not lazy but I have been slow. The only link building I have completed for deindexed is to create a profile page at Digg Deindexed and also added a profile at BlogCatalog Deindexed. The profiles were enough to get the new Deindexed Site listed in Google. The profile pages will be updated later but for now they have a few links to sites including this one.

If your perform a search for “deindexed” on Google the profile page at Blog Catalog I created is listed currently 5th, after only 5 hours. the Digg profile is currently listed 12th. The actual deindexed.com site has been moving from about 7th to 32nd in serps for the word “deindexed”. My new site is indexed in Google!

I hope by adding content and then link building through some high page rank directories the site will rank high for the word deindexed. TIP: Always hand submit to directories manually and use different keywords, phrases and description, duplicate nothing. I know deindexed is not a high traffic keyword, but it will be easy to track and has alot of potential for many seo phrases.

Adding a well written article that links to your site at a high PR article submission site will also be affective. As long as the content is well written and unique. If you want, check you newly created pages at a site like Copy Scape before you submit your articles, it’s free to use.

Upgrading your listing at blogcatalog or a similar site for a cost of about $8 even for only a month with start the search crawlers coming to your sites pages. Your upgraded listing will be linked in the directories on those sites, their directories usually have High Page Rank.

If you need to see an example article written and linked back to the deindexed.com site, as well as use the link building tips Deindexed has shared in the article, vist 20 Ways To get a High PR Link. The site is run by a new SEO friend of mine, it is very informative site.

I have to tease you by sharing an idea for my next post. How to submit and get listed in foreign search engines. Many webmasters forget that Google, Yahoo and MSN have foreign versions of their search engines. Here are some examples:

These sights do share some data ofcourse with their US versions, but it is another place and way to concentrate on getting a domain name indexed and spread out faster.

Until I post more I hope you can figure out some advantages of getting indexed in those foreign version search engines databases. Your website will become truly international, gain access to worldwide traffic.
