What’s The Best way to Build Links to Your Website? Avoid Getting Deindexed

Link building should always start with good search engine optimisation, also know as proper SEO. Good SEO means building your website properly, using good tactics, strategies and design. Many so called SEO guru’s or flash in the pain webmasters will give advice for getting to the top of search engines. They all have their own link building strategies and will even give testimonials that their seo strategy is the best. Some of the black hat tactics they use will possibly have your websites rank high in the search engines, but not for long.
Most of these bad seo strategies are based on keyword stuffing, link farms and cross linking. Using these strategies will cause your web site to get deindexed. The search engines know all these black hat tricks and update their algorithms often to weed out sites using what I will call lazy or poormans search engine optimization.

Building quality links to your website takes alot of time and knowledge. Where do you get the best links? What are considered the best links? How should I get links to my website? All are great questions. Here is a list of the types of links you should have and an estimated time to build these links.

  • Manually submit to directories, use unique anchor titles & unique descriptions, estimated time about 3 hours per week for 100 links
  • Submit unique articles and include a link to your site at sites with high page rank. Estimated time to complete task is about an hour to write a good relevant article and about 2 more hours to submit each week .
  • Submit your link to social bookmarking sites, sign up at high page rank sites like Digg and Blog Directories. It will probably take about 2 hours a week to signup and have a new bookmark at 5 or six new sites per week.
  • Submit your site to the Search Engines. Not really necessary if you build links already from high PR sites, the big search engines will find your site. Remember their are thousands of smaller search engines to submit your site to also and that could take about an hour or more per week to submit your url to many of them. Only submit every few months or only once to each, multiple submissions could get your site deindexed if done incorrectly.
  • Add your site to DMOZ directory. Most webmasters agree that its extremely hard to get a link in DMOZ, but if you follow their guidelines you should eventually be included. Estimated time about 30 minutes per site to research and write a good title , choose a category correctly, and write a valid description.
  • Invest in guaranteed placement on relevant high PR pages that will offer a permanent one way link back to your site for a nominal cost. Estimated time to complete task will be about 10 minutes to research and find each site and about 10 minutes to submit a link.
